Our methods for visually interacting with data impact on how we come to understand them. With the increasing complexity of information about brain connectivity, it has become progressively more difficult to see the underlying structure. The image presented here is the product of two novel techniques for clarifying the complexity of 'functional connectivity', which is a measure of correlation in spontaneous brain activity between different areas.
