Ice Road at Dusk

The experience was one of titillation, awe, and fear all rolled into one: the quintessence of fascination! That is, I felt a paradoxically delightful terror upon being confronted with the power of nature and my utter dependence on it as all that lay between us and the frigid abyss below was a sheet of ice! My research aims to elucidate the phenomenology as well as the neurocorrelates of the sublimity of deeply moving experiences such as fascination.
