The playing out of religion in daily life constructs part of my project. Namtso means heaven lake. Tibetans believe that dying in this lake could lead to the end of suffering. This old man, holding a walking stick and a prayer wheel, perhaps has just accomplished a long pilgrimage and is visioning his stepping into eternal happiness; the moment when sun is rising and moon is setting starts a new day for the Tibetans. Visiting the monastery composes the basic life rhythm of the Tibetans.
