Ferrofluids are colloidal suspensions of ferromagnetic particles with a mean diameter of 10 nm, which float in
a carrier liquid. Ferrofluids are mainly used in mechanical components such as seals, bearings and dampers or electronic components such as loudspeakers, stepper motors and sensors due to their magnetic properties,
broad range of working temperature and heat transfer capacities under
reduced gravity. I investigated the wetting poperties of these liquids during my PhD.
